Each article undergoes an internal review by the editorial team. The selected articles are sent for peer review. The journal follows a double-blind peer-review policy. Each article is reviewed by at least one national and one international reviewer.

Himalayan Politics ensures that no conflict of interest exists between these reviewers and the manuscript’s authors. During the peer review process, reviewers will provide comments and critiques in a confidential, constructive and unbiased manner as appropriate.

After receiving the peer-review reports, the editorial team decides whether to publish the paper, cancel it, or ask the author to revise the manuscript in response to the reviewers' comments. Upon successful completion of the peer-review process, manuscripts are accepted for publication.
